Ingredients

  • Oil 2-3 tablespoons
  • Finely chopped onion 1/4 cup
  • Coriander chutney 1/4 cup
  • Vinegar 2 tablespoons
  • Green chillies, sliced 2 units
  • All purpose flour/wheat flour 1/2 cup
  • Salt as per taste
  • Garam masala 1 teaspoons
  • Black salt 1 teaspoons
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoons
  • Black pepper powder 1/2 teaspoons
  • Red chilli powder 2 teaspoons
  • Coriander powder 2 teaspoons
  • Roasted cumin powder 2 teaspoons
  • Aamchur powder 2 teaspoons
  • Frankie masala 1 teaspoons
  • Coriander leaves chopped as per taste
  • Mashed potaotes 1 1/2 cup
  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoons
  • Chilli garlic ginger paste as per taste

Instructions

  • Take all purpose flour, wheat flour and salt in a bowl. Mix well. Add oil and mix with your fingertips. Then start adding little water at a time and keep kneading till you get a soft, smooth dough. Cover it and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  • Divide into 4 equal portions and roll each into a roti.
  • Heat the pan on medium heat and semi cook the rotis from both the sides.
  • Heat the oil in another pan on medium heat. Once hot add crushed ginger-garlic-green chili paste. Saute for few seconds then add frankie masala and red chili powder. Lower the heat so spices do not burn.
  • Add mashed potatoes & mix well. Then add chopped coriander.
  • Once it is cool to touch, divide it into 4 equal portions and shape it into a cylindrical roll.
  • Heat the oil on medium heat and fry the potato rolls until golden brown in color. Place it on a plate.
  • Spread the green chutney and sprinkle frankie masala, place potato roll on one side, sprinkle chopped onions on top, add a few pickled green chillies (mixture of sliced chillies & vinegar).
  • Make a frankie roll by keeping the one side open and another bottom side closed.
  • This street styled Frankie is ready to serve!
