Easy classic chocolate brownies

  • 1 cup , Maida
  • 3/4 cup , Powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup , Cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons , Baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons , Baking soda
  • 1 cup , Curd
  • 1/2 cup , Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoons , Chocolate+Vanilla essence
  • as per taste , Chopped walnuts/chopped chocolate chips/almonds


  • Take a Bowl with a seive placed above it. Add in Maida, Sugar, Cocoa Powder, Baking Powder and soda.
  • Sieve the mixture to get rid of lumps.
  • After passing it through sieve, mix the dry Ingredients well and set aside. In another bowl, add curd and beat well for a minute.
  • Then add in oil and vanilla+chocolate essence into the mix and incorporate well.
  • Now add half of the Dry Mix into the curd mixture and mix well. T
  • Then add the rest and mix till it forms cake like consistency.
  • Do not over mix. Now, pour the batter into pregreased Cake Tin.
  • Sprinkle the batter with almonds/walnuts/tutti fruti or chocolate chips. Bake it in a pre heated oven for 30 to 35 minutes at 180°c on middle rack.
  • Check with a toothpick after 30 minutes.
  • Let the cake cool for 10 to 20 minutes before taking out of the mould.
  • Serve Hot with Vanilla Ice-cream! Enjoy!
