- Take a large bowl, add all purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Add water and whisk until it is smooth and thick.
- Cut the onions into thick slices/ rings and separate them.
- Dip the rings in the batter, then coat them with breadcrumbs.
- Take a pan, heat the oil and deep fry the rings until they are golden brown in color and crisp.
- Transfer them into an absorbent paper and serve hot with ketchup or green chutney.
