  • Sorrel leaves
  • Chana dal
  • Onion
  • Green chillies
  • Rice flour
  • Red chilli powder
  • Mustard
  • Urad dal
  • Cumin
  • Turmeric
  • Hing
  • Oil

Instructions

  • Wash the pressure cook the chana dal with ½ cup of water for 3 whistles. Peel and chop the onion into big pieces. Put the rinsed sorrel leaves, chopped onion, slit green chillies, turmeric powder and water in a vessel. Cover with a lid and let it cook completely. Now add the cooked chana dal, rice flour, salt and red chilli powder and mix. Cook for a couple of minutes and remove from the flame. Heat oil in a pan for seasoning. Add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds and urad dal and let them splutter. When it turns golden brown color add the hing and turn off the flame. Pour this seasoned ingredients over the cooked mixture and combine well. Serve.
