Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1.5 cup yoghurt/ curd
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • 1 dry red chilli
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • 1 tsp hing/ asafoetida
  • 2 green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger grated finely
  • 1 tbsp cashew nuts (optional)
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves

Instructions

  • Mix cooked rice and dahi properly. Curd should not be sour. Mix it when the rice is still warm. If you have left over rice then steam it for a bit and then mix it with curd.
  • Heat oil in a small pan and add mustard seeds to it. When it crackles add urad dal, chana dal and dry red chilli to it. When it becomes light pink in colour, add hing and curry leaves along with chopped green chillies and grated ginger. Now add cashew nuts to it and turn off the heat.
  • Pour this tadka over rice and curd mixture and mix it well. Now garnish it with some coriander leaves.
  • Serve delicious curd rice along with some papad.

No need to have any sider just curd rice is enough meal
