- In a thick bottom pan or kadhai, heat oil. Add corn kernels,salt, turmeric and saute for 5-10 seconds. Now close the vessel with a lid and keep the gas flame on the lowest. The corn will start to crackle. Once the crackling sound is stopped, it means popcorn is ready. Switch off the gas flame and keep aside.
- Now let's make the caramel. Add sugar and water to a pan. let it melt completely. DONOT stir at all. Once the mixture starts to turn dark, add butter and stir it for a few seconds. Caramel is ready. Pour it on the popcorn and mix quickly.
