Ingredients

  • 1 cup besan(bengal gram flour)
  • 1 big size onion(optional)
  • 2 green chillies (optional)
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 sprigs curry leaves finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp organic turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  • 1/4 tsp grated ginger
  • 1-2 garlic pods finely chopped
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • Handful coriander leaves
  • Water as required
  • Oil as required
  • to taste Pink salt

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl,add besan,onion,garlic,ginger, asafoetida, curry leaves, coriander leaves,green chillies, turmeric,red chilli powder,cumin seeds,salt add water and bring it to pouring consistency.(nor thick nor too much flowy) and keep aside for 5mins.
  • Heat a iron tawa,grease well and pour one ladleful of batter in the centre and spread evenly. Drizzle some oil around the edges. Full process should be on low to medium flame.
  • Close wdh a lid and let it cook. Cook it till u see the upper layer is dried up
  • Then only flip on to the other side and cook for some seconds...no need of covering now.
  • The crispy Besan cheelas are ready to serve wdh sauce or chutney...

Notes/Tips

U may add any veggies of ur choice.
