Eggless Apple pie with Vanilla Custard I have made this apple pie without oven. I really love to have apple pie with vanilla custard.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium size red apples (peeled & cut into chunks
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • as required Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 lemon juice
  • as required Grated orange zest(optional)
  • as required Cornflour
  • 2 cups flour
  • as per taste Salt
  • 1 pinch baking powder
  • 2-3 chilled butter cubes

Instructions

  • Heat a pan. Melt butter. Saute the apple chunks with sugar. Stir till the apple juice leaves. Separate the apple chunks in a bowl.
  • Stir until the juice evaporates. When brown add the apple once more. Add the cinnamon powder,lemon juice & orange zest. Turn off the flame.
  • In a bowl take flour,salt,baking powder & chilled butter cubes. Mix & rub till the mixture looks like breadcrumbs. Add chilled water to make a fine dough.
  • Grease the pie pan or any steel flat low edge container with butter. Sprinkle some flour on rolling board. Roll out a small dough. Place it on the pie pan. Press from all sides. Prick the base & sides with a fork.
  • Pour the apples into the pie base. Roll out a dough again & cut evenly into strips. Place each strip on top with a gap in between. Press from sides & cut the extra strips.
  • Heat a pan for 10mins on high flame. Place a stand & put the pie pan. Cover & bake for 5mins. Brush melted butter on the pie & again bake for 40mins.
  • When cool demould it. Serve with Vanilla Custard to enhance its taste.
