  • Baking soda
  • Besan
  • Rice flour
  • Turmeric
  • Water
  • Salt

Instructions

  • first prepare a thick batter by mixing the ingredients: cooked upma, baking soda, rice powder, turmeric powder and required water. Make lime sized balls with the entire upma. Mix bengal gram flour with sufficient water to make a smooth batter. Heat sufficient oil in a pan. Dip each ball in the bengal gram batter and deep fry in hot boiling oil till golden brown in color and crisp.
