Known as the perfect dessert in French, parfait has a French and an American version. The French recipe is made with egg yolk foam, whipped cream, with multiple flavouring elements. It is all mixed together and frozen into a tall thin mould. When it settles, the unmoulding process commences.

The film “Eat Pray Love” gave us the love for Gelato. It is a dessert that originated in Italy. It has low-fat content due to its high milk content than cream. Gelatos have a dense texture due to their high freezing temperature with 4 to 8% butterfat and whipped in less air. It is mostly available in nutty and chocolate flavours, but in recent times, coffee flavoured gelatos are also gaining popularity.

7. Semifreddo

In Italian , it means half-frozen. It is a type of frozen dessert, similar to the ice cream but minus the churning process. Semifreddo is also easy to make at home without any special equipment. Semifreddos are normally served in the base of tarts or as a cake. To make it crunchy, cookie crumbles and biscuits are also layered on top of it and then kept inside the freezer.
