A few days back, I completed one year of my food blog page on Instagram. I really wanted to make or bake something fun, dessert-y and delicious!
I knew I wanted to make something unique & something equally delicious. But I didnt know what! I asked a friend & he said pizza. I was excited because I love pizzas & I hadnt done a pizza post yet. So when I started looking for unique pizza toppings, I came across some recipes with blueberries, mascarpone, apples even! I took inspiration from those & created this chilled (after baking) magical dessert. I baked it from scratch & it was totally worth the wait.
But for the first time, I was really confused. About what to make and also whether it should be sweet or savoury. So I asked a friend to suggest. He said “Bake a Pizza!”. I was very excited, I love Pizza and I hadnt done a post on pizza yet. So it seemed like the perfect opportunity.
So I set out looking for unique pizza toppings, I came across some recipes with blueberries, mascarpone, apples even! Thats when I got the idea! Why not divided the dough into two and make 2 pizzas instead of one? One savoury and one sweet. That way I would be killing two birds with one stone, or thats what I thought.
I divided the dough and set out with the first pizza, the sweet one. The toppings couldnt be added at one go, it had to be baked, cooled & then the next layer could be added. So after the first step was done, I left it to cool. In the meantime I thought Il get started with the savoury pizza. I had a nice idea of how I wanted it to look. But alas! That was not meant to be. I goofed up with the dough and it turned out to be a disaster.
Long story short, I got what I wanted, a fun, dessert-y and delicious dish. And I did what my friend suggested too, bake a pizza!
So in the end, I guess I can say that I killed two birds with one stone, right?
