How to use them?
1. Roasted Aliv seeds / Halim Seeds
Heat a pan and roast the Aliv seeds at moderate heat for 3-4 minutes. Do not add any
oil during roasting. Stir continuously to avoid burning of the seeds. Once the seeds change their color slightly, take it off the flame. Cool the seeds and store them in an air-tight container.
2. Soaked Halim seeds / Halim cress seeds
You can soak Aliv seeds ( 1 tablespoon) in water or warm milk ( 2 tablespoons of milk or water) for one to two hours. Soaking Aliv Seeds makes it soft and forms a jelly-type consistency. Soaked Aliv seeds can be used to prepare many interesting recipes.
3. Sprouted Halim seeds / Garden cress seeds
Soak the Aliv seeds in water overnight, then spread the seeds on the moist soil.
Within 4 to 6 days shoots comes out, grow them for 1 or 2 days. You can use these
sprouts in sandwiches, Raitha, Soups, and Chutneys.
