Kurkuri Bhindi
Ingredients -
- 300gm bhindi (okra)
- ½ cup rice flour
- ¼ cup semolina (rava/sooji)
- 1 tbsp nigella seeds (kalonji)
- ½ tsp fennel seeds (saunf)
- 1 tsp salt as per taste
- ½ tsp haldi powder
- ½ tsp kashmiri red chili powder
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp frying
- Lemon wedges
Instructions -
- Wash bhindi and then pat dry with a kitchen towel and slice it lengthwise.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, semolina, nigella seeds, fennel seeds, salt, turmeric and chilli powder. Whisk to combine and then pour in the water to make a thick batter.
- Add the sliced bhindi to the batter and toss it around to coat all the slides. Set aside for 15 minutes.
- Place the bhindi slices in the air fryer basket, spread them & spray some oil.
- Cook for 10 minutes at 330˚F. Remove and shake the bhindi, then cook again at 350˚F for 2-5 minutes more until crispy.
Korean Chicken Wings
Ingredients -
For sauce:
- ¼ cup hot honey
- 3 tbsp gochujang (korean hot pepper paste)
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp minced garlic and ginger roots
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ green onions (finely chopped)
For wings:
- 450gm chicken wings
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ cup cornstarch
To garnish:
- 2 tbsp green onions (chopped)
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
Instructions -
- In a saucepan, combine hot honey, gochujang, brown sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, salt, and black pepper, and bring it to a boil. Add green onions & stir
- Preheat the air fryer to 400˚C.
- In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with salt, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper & coat with cornstarch. Place it in the air fryer basket and fry for 10 minutes. For a crispier wing, fry more for 7-8 minutes.
- Once done, toss the wings into the prepared sauce. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
- Enjoy your hot and spicy korean chicken wings with chilli oil.
French Fries
Ingredients -
- 2 potatoes sliced in ¼ - inch sticks
- 1 tsp olive oil
- ½ tsp sea salt
- ½ tsp chilli flakes
- ½ tsp oregano
- ½ tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp ketchup, mustard sauce & mayo
Instructions -
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F.
- Drizzle the potato wedges with olive oil and salt; toss to coat
- Place the potatoes in the fryer and fry for 15 minutes. Flip halfway until crispy; fry them more if not crispy enough.
- Once all the batches are done, toss all the fries together in the air fryer basket and re-crisp for 1-2 more minutes
- Enjoy your fries with ketchup, mustard sauce or mayo!
Banana Chips
Ingredients -
- 2 raw bananas
- 1 tbsp coconut oil (or olive oil)
- ½ tsp turmeric powder (optional, for colour)
- ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- ½ tsp black pepper or red chilli powder
- ½ tsp chaat masala (optional, for extra flavour)
Instructions -
- Peel the raw bananas by cutting off the ends and making a lengthwise slit. Use a slicer or a sharp knife to cut thin, even slices.
- Soak the slices in a bowl of water with ½ tsp salt for 10 minutes. Drain and pat dry with a kitchen towel.
- In a bowl, mix the banana slices with coconut oil, turmeric, salt, and any other spices of your choice.
- Set the air fryer to 180°C and preheat for 2-3 minutes.
- Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry at 180°C for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes for even cooking.
- If needed, air fry for another 2-3 minutes until they are crispy and golden. Let the chips cool completely for maximum crispiness.
- Enjoy them as a snack or store them in an airtight container for later.
Sweet Potato Fries
Ingredients -
- 1 large sweet potato
- 1 tbsp olive oil (or coconut oil)
- ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp chilli powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional, for extra flavour)
Instructions:
- Peel the sweet potato. Use a slicer or a sharp knife to cut it very thin.
- Soak the slices in cold water for 15-20 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry thoroughly with a kitchen towel.
- In a bowl, toss the sweet potato slices with olive oil, salt, and other seasonings of choice.
- Set the air fryer to 160°C and preheat for 2-3 minutes.
- Arrange the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry at 160°C for 12-15 minutes, flipping or shaking the basket every 5 minutes. Keep an eye on them, as thinner slices will cook faster.
- Let the chips cool for a few minutes to crisp up further.
- Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container to binge in whenever you want.
