Mitali G Dutta is a Guwahati-based entrepreneur who runs her culinary venture 'Food Sutra by Mitali'. She trains women in the rural areas of Assam through 'FSM Food Trails' -- organising tours in culinary training and dining concepts. These tours help women share different traditional recipes of local cuisine with food tourists and go on to host them for the meal.
From daily meal plans to packages for 14 days of isolation, home chefs and cloud kitchens have stepped up to serve a variety of meals to those already struggling to cope up with Covid-19. It was after tragedy hit her own home that Madhavi Chepur decided to start a cloud kitchen (Kwik Meal 7) with her friend Revathy Venkateshan in Hyderabad.
“We are trying to help the families who are COVID positive and are unable to cook food. We are making packets of food for them and leave that in front of society gate and the security guard takes the packages of food to the families,” Gurpreet Singh, Head priest of the Gurudwara.
This family started a start-up Suhoor Express, which delivers homemade Suhoor/ Sehri food to people in and around Hyderabad at a reasonable rate. The start-up helps the needy by donating free food with profits earned for Suhoor Express. They provide Sehri and Iftar food to families who have lost their property, jobs, and wages due to Covid-19 and floods."
