Ingredients

  • Rohu or Grass- Carp 5 pieces
  • Coriander Powder 2 tsp
  • Cumin Powder 2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder 1/4th tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder (recipe in steps) 1 tsp
  • Green Chillies 2
  • Garlic Paste 2 tbsp
  • Potato (mashed) 3
  • Onion (cut in small pieces) 2 (medium sized)
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Bunch of Coriander/Cilantro Leaves (finely chopped
  • Few Kismis/Raisins
  • Refined Oil 3 tbsp
  • Eggs 2
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Oil

Instructions

  • Boil the fish and take out the bones. Then mash the fish.
  • In the pan put the cut onion , ginger and garlic paste.
  • Stir properly then put the mashed fish.
  • Add cumin, coriander, turmeric and garam masala powder. To make Garam Masala Powder, grind 4 Cardamoms, 2 Cinnamons, and 7-8 Cloves
  • Keep stirring properly.
  • Now add salt, sugar, coriander leaves, chillies and kismis.
  • Lastly, add the mashed potatoes for binding and keep cooking in slow flame for 5-10 mins.
  • After it's cooled down, make it in the size as shown in the main picture.
  • Coat them in egg batter, and then bread crumbs.
  • Deep fry.

Notes/Tips

This is a dish that is a wonderful snack and is paired best with kasundi and tomato sauce. It’s crispy outer layer matched with the delicious filling makes for a mouth-watering eat.
