Apple Almond Smoothie

Ingredients

  • Peeled, cored and chopped, Apple
  • 1/2 cup, Milk
  • 1/3 cup, Yogurt
  • 5-6, Almonds
  • 3, pitted, Dates
  • 1 tsp, Honey
  • A dash of ground, Cinnamon

Instructions

  • Peel and cut apple into halves. Remove the core and cut apple into large pieces.
  • Add apple, dates and almonds in a blender jar.
  • Add milk, yogurt and honey.
  • Blend until smooth and there are no chunks of fruit. Pour prepared smoothie into a chilled serving glass and sprinkle cinnamon over it. Drink it immediately for better taste because it will turn brown within half an hour.

Notes/Tips

1) If you do not like the strong flavor of cinnamon, skip it. 2) Replace cinnamon with cardamom for nice flavor. 3) Soaked almonds are better, the brown peel of almonds contains tannin which inhibits nutrient absorption. Once you soak almonds the peel comes off easily and allows the nut to release all nutrients easily. 4) While blending all ingredients you can use 1tbsp flaxseeds, powdered for more healthy.
