A Seedy Diwali!

A healthy Diwali sans the extra cholesterol is now possible – thanks to the many new recipes that revolve around healthy snacking options. One of them is obviously – roasted seeds, flavoured to taste heavenly. Here are some of our favorites!

Flax Seeds

Roasted and salted with a little haldi, these scream health from every angle! They’re rich in nutrients and super fun to eat.

Sesame Seeds

Make them into an oozy tahini or have them as is as a snack, sesame seeds contain essential fats and make for a great addition to salads and dressings.

Sunflower Seeds

We love the ones by Tong Garden and Cornitos – these lip smacking crunchy seeds are flavoured with special masalas to make them taste just amazing!

Pumpkin Seeds

We love these in every way – they make for healthy snacks and you can say goodbye to fried chips and fritters – it is pumpkin all the way!

Lotus Seeds

Makhanas have gained popularity through the ages and it is all thanks to many larger companies who have taken this humble seed under their wing and flavoured it with a range of seasonings.

Hemp Seeds

These are picking up in India for their massive nutritional benefits. They taste very close to pine nuts and we suggest you make your next batch of pesto using some roasted hemp seeds for better health benefits!

Chia Seeds

Oh the joy of having a tall glass of falooda is unmatched! But it is only now that we realize the importance of these tiny seeds – chia seeds or the Indian version sabja keeps the body cool and can help you bid adieu to those acne breakouts. A simple overnight soak will plump them up and make for a great snack with yogurt, fruit, nuts and more.
